Wrocław Christmas Market: Dates, Opening Hours and Christmas Cruises
4 min read
The Christmas market on the Market Square runs from 20 November 2026 to 7 January 2027. If you want a second activity around it, the best fit is the Old Town Christmas Cruise on a heated ship: 45 minutes, a pier about five minutes’ walk from the square, and a boat of at most 12 guests.
Dates and hours of the market
The city of Wrocław gives these dates for the market on the Market Square: daily from 10 am to 9 pm, from 20 November 2026 to 7 January 2027. It is closed on 24 and 25 December and on 1 January. On 26 December it opens at 1 pm. On New Year’s Eve the stalls close at 5 pm, while the food and drink stands stay open until 2 am.
The city also points to a separate Christmas market on Plac Nowy Targ, which runs from 20 November to 20 December 2026.
Why add a boat to a market visit
The market is for browsing and eating on foot. A river cruise is the opposite: you sit down, the boat is heated and it takes 45 minutes. Three Christmas listings run from Oder piers close to the Old Town; all describe festive decoration on board and a cruise that starts and ends at the same pier, and two mention carols or holiday music.
| Tour | Drinks | Boarding pier | From |
|---|---|---|---|
| Old Town Christmas Cruise on a Heated Ship | Mulled wine for an extra charge | Pod Mostem pier, Piaskowy Bridge | €16.20 |
| Christmas Cruise by Heated Ship with Mulled Wine | One cup of mulled wine or another hot drink included | Amphitheatre Pier, Dunikowski Boulevard | €21.60 |
| Boat Cruise on a Heated Ship During the Christmas Market | Mulled wine, hot chocolate, tea, coffee at the bar, extra charge | Amphitheatre Pier, Dunikowski Boulevard | €15.35 |
What differs between them
The first listing uses small boats for up to 12 guests, a wooden galar called Pirat and a catamaran called Hollywood, with one onboard toilet. Its page says mulled wine costs extra, headphones for the audio guide are not included and no human guide comes along: the commentary is an audio guide you start by scanning a QR code on your phone. The page also lists wheelchair users and people with mobility impairments as not suitable, so it is not the one to choose if that applies.
The other two sail from the Amphitheatre Pier, which the listings put about 550 metres or eight minutes’ walk from the Market Square. The one with mulled wine in the title includes a cup of mulled wine or another hot drink in the price. The third sells drinks at the bar, including non-alcoholic choices for children, and both describe two restrooms and a heated lower deck. The third also lists non-folding and electric wheelchairs, mobility scooters and non-folding pushchairs as not allowed on board; for the second, ask the operator about access before you book.
Planning tips
All three listings say cruises can be cancelled in bad weather and that seats are limited in the Christmas season, so book early for weekends in December. Check the pier on your voucher, because the listings use two different ones. Market first and boat afterwards is the easy order; do it the other way round if you want to warm up early.
