Sky Tower, Hydropolis and Centennial Hall: Wrocław's Modern Sights Compared
4 min read
Choose the Sky Tower Observation Deck ticket for a view and the Hydropolis entry ticket for a rainy-day exhibition. They suit different days, and neither is the best choice if you are short on time and want the old centre. None of the offers listed here is a ticket for the Centennial Hall itself, but several tours pass it, two e-car rides among them.
| Option | What you get | From |
|---|---|---|
| Sky Tower Observation Deck ticket | Observation deck on the 49th floor | €12.05 |
| Hydropolis entry ticket | Interactive exhibition indoors | €10.23 |
| Old Town E-Car Tour with Live Guide | E-car ride with a live guide, passing the Centennial Hall | €19.33 |
| E-Car Tour and Audio Guide | E-car ride with free time at the Multimedia Fountain Show | €18.19 |
Sky Tower: the view from the 49th floor
The listing puts the observation deck 200 metres above the city on the 49th floor, over 600 square metres, with a café and an outdoor terrace, and calls it the second-highest viewing point in Poland. A multimedia lift takes you up. The ticket costs €12.05 and the page shows 385 reviews.
What the page says you must do: exchange your voucher at the Sky Tower ticket desk, which sits on the first floor of the shopping centre at Powstańców Śląskich 95, together with the entrance to the viewing terrace. It lists people with claustrophobia and people afraid of heights as not suitable. Backpacks, food and drinks you bring yourself and pets (assistance dogs are allowed) are not permitted. Under inclusions it also names drinks and snacks at the bar without saying what the ticket covers, so ask at the desk before you order.
Hydropolis: an exhibition, not a view
Hydropolis is described as a modern exhibition in a 19th-century former water reservoir at Na Grobli 17, with over 70 interactive installations and an audio guide in six languages. The ticket costs €10.23 and covers entry. The page notes that Hydropolis does not issue invoices for tickets bought through GetYourGuide, which matters only if you need one for business. Rules on the page include no pets, no smoking and no drones.
This is the better option when it rains or when children need something to touch. According to the Hydropolis website, the exhibition is open Monday to Friday from 9 am to 6 pm (last entry 5 pm) and at weekends and on public holidays from 9 am to 7 pm (last entry 6 pm).
Centennial Hall: see it without a ticket
The Centennial Hall was built between 1911 and 1913 to a design by Max Berg and was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2006. None of the offers listed here is a ticket for the hall itself, but several tours list it on their route, two e-car rides among them. The Old Town E-Car Tour with Live Guide lists the Centennial Hall and the Pergola Fountain Show among its stops, and the E-Car Tour and Audio Guide gives free time at the Multimedia Fountain Show. The fountain is a seasonal attraction, so ask the operator whether it is playing on your date.
How to combine them
The three sights are separate stops with their own addresses, so do not plan all of them on foot in one day. A sensible split is the e-car ride in the morning, which covers the hall, and one of the two tickets in the afternoon: the Sky Tower for a clear day, Hydropolis for a wet one. Check the forecast first, since the deck is only worth the price in good visibility.
